Sherri brings more than 20 years of experience advising business owners, from the start up to the emerging and established business, as well as individuals. Sherri has a reputation of trust in handling the simple to the complex legal matter. She has sat on both sides of the negotiation table and understands the interests of employers as well as the newly hired executive. She knows what it takes to buy or sell a business or property at the right time and for the right reasons. Before they make these important decisions, clients rely on her as a resource.

Sherri provides frequent counsel on private placements, venture and institutional financing, securities and business acquisition matters. She has drafted and negotiated investment and loan documents from both the perspective of the investor and the business owner.

With a special focus on intellectual property, Sherri can secure trademarks and copyrights, defend and prosecute infringement claims and negotiate licensing agreements.

Clients and prospective clients span the technology and biomedical industries, but Sherri also serves manufacturers, hospitality, automotive and professional service firms, among others. They may have a few employees or hundreds, one location or several across the country. Sherri enjoys the process of helping them build, grow and plan for transition or sale. Her goal is to develop and assist in reaching effective and efficient solutions that accomplish her clients' objectives and strengthens those professional relationships.

Sherri has spent her entire career at Siegel Brill and works closely with the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Succession, Tax and Estate Planning attorneys to provide a complete range of services to clients. Her experience with conflict resolution makes her a knowledgeable advisor for properly structuring transactions.

Some of Sherri's previous client matters include:

  • Representing a technology company in the strategic acquisition of a complementary business.
  • Drafting and negotiating software license and distribution agreements.
  • Advising a real estate developer with respect to raising capital through a private placement offering, including drafting the private placement memorandum and making required state and federal securities filings.
  • Securing and managing portfolios of domestic and international trademarks for clients in the manufacturing and personal care products industries.
  • Advising new businesses in selecting a type of entity and preparing organizational documents, including the buy-sell agreement.
